What is Panna?
Panna is emerald, the green variety of beryl. In Vedic astrology it is traditionally associated with Mercury (Budh), the planet linked with speech, intellect and commerce.
Inclusions are normal
Natural emerald nearly always shows a mossy internal pattern called jardin. A perfectly clean emerald at a low price is a warning sign (it may be glass or lab-grown). What matters is that cracks do not reach the surface.
Oiling and other treatment

- Colour: vivid, slightly bluish green is most valued.
- Pale green stones are often green beryl, valued lower than emerald.
